Full-Scale Solar Team

This week Francisco, Jordan and I agreed to create a spreadsheet of weekly objectives for us to work towards and complete in order to be more organized. As of now, we will continue to research more about available products that can help with our project. Lastly, we are working on the presentation that we are to give the next time Spartan Superway meets collectively. 9/16/18-9/21/18

This week we completed our first presentation and are now focusing on creating drawings to solidify our design ideas. We are also in the works of gathering costs so that it will be easier acquiring funding down the road. Finally, we are learning more about the progress the Wayside Power team is making in order to come up with a great exhibit for the Maker Faire coming up in May. Some mentor critique focused on how we like to skip ahead in the design phase without thinking about the small steps it takes to build up a design. We are addressing this by taking this project one step at a time, not rushing anything. We are also improving our gantt chart so that all the team members are aware of what phase in the project we are in. This week, Francisco, Jordan and I met to discuss the next steps of our project. As of now, we have proper information and correct dates from the new syllabus. We divided up duties between individuals. This does not mean we are individually completely responsible for our parts, we will help each other out and work as a team. We continuously communicate with each other via Google Hangouts to keep updated with current issues, dates, etc. 9/10/18-9/14/18

Current progress so far is that we are in the proposal stage, gearing up to start acquiring modeling software to perform necessary analysis on our current design to seek improvements and alterations. We have acquired contacts for Battery University students and faculty to start working with them on a potential solar energy capture system. Finally, we are working with Tynan from the Full-Scale Wayside Power Team to acquire funding and sponsors for the project. 9/3/18-9/7/18
